Things have gone well since Hartford. Not quite the mileage my plan calls for, but I’ve been getting some good miles in. Exception was yesterday where – probably thanks to my sleeping through the intended 10 miler last weekend – at around Mile 7 my wonderful left ITB flared up. So I cut the intended 12 to 8. But it’ll be ok.
Got to Rutgers for running club, and when AJ was saying hi to me as I was coming in and down the stairs, he said “Uh oh…that doesn’t look like a good face.” The foam rollers were out, so even though at that point I was in jeans, I got my little self on one. Rolled up and down a couple of times before hitting the offending knot – and yelping loudly when I did. I had a good chat with Ruth, then after the regular meeting, Kent had a chat with those of us who will be helping lead at the fluid and cheer station next Sunday.
I then had a little time to kill before work, but not enough to come back home, so I went to see “Gravity”. I enjoyed it. Definitely some deep stuff there – not your “I want to just go and feel good” kind of thing.
Work was ok last night. If late – I really don’t like the closing shifts on weekends because the trains are so spotty. Somehow though I managed to hit all my trains just right so it didn’t take forever.
Church today was great. I had the evening off, so I decided to go and try a lottery. I really wanted Wicked, but I opted to walk and it would have been tight getting there, so I tried Matilda. Lost. Of course. Even with only one ticket left, the guy deciding he didn’t want it, and a long drawn out redraw for that ticket where a lot of people had taken off. So I went to see “Carrie”. It was good. And I’ve been home since.
Not that a preview for it was before either of those movies, but we’re getting lots of information about “Frozen” at the store, and I cannot wait for it to come out!! Definitely what I’m planning to do on Black Friday morning!! The songs I’ve heard clips of are good (even if they didn’t just let Idina do the single version of “Let It Go”) – though it’s going to be weird knowing that it’s a Disney animated movie with no Alan Menken music! What’s up with that?? Based on the character description for Elsa and the song (“Let It Go” is Elsa’s), I very strongly suspect that Elsa is going to be my definitive answer to “what Disney character are you most like”. I also think that as “Brave” was for mothers and daughters, “Frozen” will be for sisters. Just some of the lyrics…
“The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
and it looks like I’m the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, Heaven knows I’ve tried
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always had to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway”
Yep. That’s me. (And this is where I miss livejournal and its ability to lock posts to certain groups and/or people as that’s about all I can say for now.) About as much as the “What Golden Girl Are You” quiz pegged me as Rose. Duh!
So… I think that’s about it. Hope all my loyal readers are doing well!
