I know everyone’s doing their year in review posts today, but since my last race of the year is at 11:15 (and I should be done before midnight unless things go really south), I don’t want to jinx anything by posting that stuff yet.
What’s ahead for me in 2013? Let’s see…
January 13 ~ Walt Disney World Marathon (AKA Mickey 20)!! So excited about it!! Cannot wait!! Because no matter what? I’ll be at Disney and that in and of itself is fun!
February 17 ~ Cherry Tree 10 Mile Relay! I’m going to be part of a team with Front Runner teammates Stacey and Jeany! We don’t have our name yet, but I’m sure we will soon! We won’t be the fastest by any stretch of the imagination, but we’ll have fun!!
April 7 ~ Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run!! Super pumped I got into the race!! And excited I’ll get to see Becca and Rick!!
April 27 ~ Rock’n’Roll Country Music Half Marathon! I’ll get to run in Nashville!! Having lived there for a while, I know it’s NOT flat, but I’m excited to give it a good go!
October 12 ~ ING Hartford Marathon!! This one’s my A-race for the year. All my training will be building up to this one where I am determined to break 6 hours. I don’t care if it’s 5:59:59…I WANT that 6 hour mark!!
I’m sure there will bo other races that will come up – the Pride Run for sure. Coogan’s probably. And the Mini 10K most likely. And we’ll see what else comes up. Because there are so many of us, we’re pretty much restricted to one Saturday per month of requesting off, so I may be more limited to Sunday races just because of my availability meaning I won’t be as likely to have to request off.
I’m ready for another year where I’m determined my training will be more consistent. I’m going to fall about 30 miles short of my goal for the year (it was 850), but I don’t want to sell myself short by setting a goal too low. I mean, a goal should be a challenge, right? So…
2013 mileage goal?
I may not get there, but I’m going to do my best to hit it!
