Ok, so really this was Tuesday, but I didn’t get a chance to write.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are XT days. And for this week at least that means yoga! Specifically today was Jillian Michaels’ Yoga Meltdown Level 1.
Don’t get me wrong…I have my issues with Jillian – the whole godaddy.com thing just irks me…their ads are just this side of porm imho. But I do love this workout. Well, level 1. I know level 2 is supposedly the harder one, but other than when she has us move in and out of and then hold goddess, I don’t feel that I’m getting nearly as good of a workout as I do with level 1.
It’s short – 35 minutes – so on the days when I have to get it done early in the morning before school and store it works nicely. And it’s a good way to work on my core and on some upper body in the push-ups and the downward dog positions as well as the vinyasa.
I’ll be changing the XT up from time to time…I don’t want my body to get into too much of a pattern. Keeping things fresh is the best way to go I’ve found.
Also…I’ve set a tentative goal of getting to 150 pounds before Chicago. I say tentative only because I’m a bit hesitant to attach a number, but that’s how we measure weight so that’s what I’ll do. I know it can be hard to lose weight during marathon training, but I definitely want to improve my eating habits. So I’m logging food and workouts on MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories and other nutrients and make sure I’m eating enough. Randomly – and simply because I got on the scale last Tuesday – Tuesdays will be my weigh-in days. Last week I weighed in at 183. Ouch. Up a good bit from my previous low. But I knew my eating hadn’t been the best.
Yesterday I weighed in at 178. It seems a lot to lose in a week, but it’s pretty much how my body operates. When I first get back on a more solid eating plan I tend to drop a lot in the first week or two and then even out to a healthier and more sustainable rate of loss.
So we’ll see what happens. To help keep me accountable, I’m adding the weight onto my little personal tracking at the bottom of each entry. It will only be updated each Tuesday though.
